Rammstein-Rammstein   ©2019  Rammstein GBR/Universal Music
It's really hard to believe that it has been a decade since Rammstein's last studio set was released. There have been other offerings, but there is nothing like getting new stuff. My friends, this was worth the wait. There is some new and some old with this album. The band always tends to go forward in their sound and really never make the same record twice. With this self titled record you get some familiarity. I was hearing a few things that took me back to the 'Sehnsucht' album. One of the first singles 'Radio' has some driving guitar that in ways will remind you a bit of 'Du Hast'. What really worked for me on this particular record was the keyboards. It's always been good, but the way that it was used on some of the new material really enhanced those songs. 'Weit Weg' and 'Sex' are good examples of this. This is a really good record. It comes highly recommended!

The Brink-Nowhere To Run    ©2019  Frontiers Records
There are a couple of reasons I love Frontiers Records. The collaborations and the new artists that I get exposed to. The label has a knack for finding some very good talent across the globe. The Brink is one of those bands in the latter category. The band is from the United Kingdom and plays a melodic hard rock sound that has old influences as well as new. They have put together an album of very catchy music. It is important to note that the band's sound is a bit of a hybrid sound. There are some more traditional elements, but also there are sounds here that would cause comparisons to more modern acts in the current rock market. The sound isn't typical of what you usually get from Frontiers and their artists. You get a band with a fair amount of crossover appeal. Are they for you? Give them a shot via YouTube and make the decision for yourself!

D-A-D-A Prayer For The Loud  ©2019  AFM Records
I have to be honest. It has been a very long time since I had checked these guys out. I have their earlier work, but somehow lost track of them. I knew there was still music being released. The band have released their latest album and it should make fans of those earlier records pretty happy. It's a sound that hearkens back to albums like 'No Fuel Left for the Pilgrims' and 'Riskin It All'. This band was on to something all of those years ago. They were releasing just before the whole scene fell apart, and in my opinion, they sounded pretty unique. That sound is very evident once again with this record. The music has a confident veteran feel to it, but maintains those elements that made people pay attention years ago. Obviously the sound is a bit more modern in terms of production, but this one is going to make the fans very happy. Solid record!

Warrior Soul-Rock 'n' Roll Disease   ©2019 Livewire/Cargo Records UK
The latest from Kory Clarke and Warrior Soul is like a continuation of the last album 'Back on the Lash'. It has a much more raw and unpolished feel than what we heard on the first few Warrior Soul records. The best way to go into the newer stuff is enjoy it without expecting those earlier albums. This is loud rock and rock with a lot of attitude. It becomes a tale of two different eras. This is obviously where the band is and feels comfortable right now. I was a big fan of those earlier albums, but also accept that the only constant is change. You could see the band evolving as the albums progressed from those first few releases. This really wouldn't be a return to the roots for this band as this wasn't where they were at musically. This is a record that you go into, get your dose of and feel fulfilled. If you keep it in perspective, you'll find music to like here!

Sammy Hagar & The Circle-Space Between   ©2019  F.W.O Inc/BMG
I've spent a lot of time through the years with Sammy Hagar's music, whether it is his solo stuff, Montrose, Van Halen, or the more recent stuff like the Waboritas or Chickenfoot. There is  lot to like. It's always a treat to get new music from Hagar especially since he has now passed the age of 70 where people are slowing down. This latest album by Hagar and The circle which also features Vic Johnson, Michael Anthony and Jason Bonham shows some good energy. It's a basic rock record with some decent energy. It has a bit of an odd feel at times probably due to it being a concept album which is stated on the front of the compact disc on a sticker. It's an album to be taken part of in its entirety. It will make more sense that way. The band as a unit sound really good with decent chemistry. Definitely check this out and do it as an entire play though!
